super-rad-crooked-finger-update

September 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Whooaa it has been a month again. Great. Actually that IS kinda great because I have a bunch of stuff  to tell you. First, I broke and dislocated my right little finger. This means that I can’t print for a while, and also that I appear to have a robot hand.  Also: Casiotone poster! He was great to see live, and an all around nice guy.

Next? Some pages from a zine my friend put together. I have some stickers of the bunny/guy image too.

And lastly, I’m doing all kinds of fun little online projects and other things, so there will be some more updates very soon. Buy some posters at my etsy shop so I can afford internet in my apartment. Cool? Great.

saddest action

This one came from the terrible moving week of ‘09. I’m currently working on a poster for Ra Ra Riot, a set of promotion materials for a Film Festival in town, some little pieces for a canadian record label, and a handful of other things I can’t even remember.

opposite of fun

I just moved my apartment/silkscreen studio a couple doors down, so it has been a long last few days. I don’t have internet yet so I’m falling down on all my online responsibilities. I DO, however, have this dandy handmade type to share with you. I’m thinking of getting some t-shirts printed.

still-life in a field

A few weeks ago I finished a book with my friend Rich Smith. He wrote the poems and I illustrated them all, then screen printed it, cut it, and bound it with staples. You’ll like it, I swear. More pages below, and you can get it at neversleeping.etsy.com.

el caminos in the west…the giveaway!

July 6, 2009 · 26 Comments

I’m in such high spirits after seeing Jason Lytle (formerly of Grandaddy) perform that I’m giving away all of my posters. Well, one Jason Lytle poster, one set of Decemberists, and one Ben Folds. See the post below for those last two. Anyway, all you have to do is comment, leave your email or some place I can get in touch with you, and your desired poster of choice. I will draw numbers from a hat on July 16th. Oh, add this to your RSS feed while you’re at it. I’m going to give away one of every poster I make from now on.

Also, I made a skate deck based on the poster design, which you can vote for here if you like. Thanks! – Ben

july, july!

June 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

What happened to summer? It is flying out the window faster than I complain about the heat. I haven’t been churning out as much work lately because I’ve been working on a big project…a POETRY book with my friend Rich Smith (don’t worry, he is the poet and he’s very good, I’m just illustrating). It will be great though! Probably done in a week or two.

In the meantime here are some more posters. Ben Folds, and a set of Decemberists posters. They are each one color for two reasons: One color prints are quick and simple, and you can’t cut any corners or use any tricks…and also I was almost out of emulsion (what you coat the screens with) and was scared of running out part way through. Anyway, you can get them at neversleeping.etsy.com!

I made another zine during my poster marathon week (taking a break from them for a bit). Anyway, it’s purple ink screen printed on tan coverstock, 4″ x 4″ edition of 90. Go to my etsy shop to pick one up.

junior boys

April 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Jason at The Best Part was kind enough to post about my work, and he has featured a ton of other stuff that’s way better than me so check it out and add to your RSS feed!

New poster (Junior Boys) and I’m cranking a few more out too. I’m also illustrating some poems my friend Rich Smith wrote, so a silkscreened book with all of them is soon to follow…you’ll love it! I swear.
