the trapeze act was wonderful

iron and wine poster

Just finished this Iron and Wine poster for their show at The Pageant in St. Louis. I’m pressed on time, and I wanted to try a one-color because it’s been a little while. The bird falling out is kind of dark, I know, so just pretend he’s diving into water that’s way below where the paper ends. That will make you feel not as sad.

Other news: a few record packages are in the works, another two posters, and a bunch of other stuff I’m possibly forgetting. Oh, I’m also moving from Kansas City to Columbia. That probably won’t be a huge pain at all…

revive ezine illustration

Woah…a new illustration? For sure. I did this for my friend Lindsey’s ezine Revive, for an article about meat consumption worsening global warming. You kind of have to read the article for it to make sense, but a chicken on a chair is fun anyway.

i fought the blog and the blog won

May 7, 2008 · 1 Comment

The old blogspot wasn’t cutting it, had to upgrade. Besides, this is much roomier and more professional, no? This poster was done before Destroyer, but if I don’t post a few older ones I’ll have nothing to say.

The Caribou/Fuck Buttons show was exciting. Caribou is an extremely tight band, especially with Sinkane filling in on drums. Fuck Buttons got people moving with their toy electronics for suuuure, highly recommended to anyone.

I’m still tinkering with the look of this beastly blog, and it will be more eye-pleasing soon i promise.

tornadoes, nature’s destroyer

Destroyer poster

This is the poster I did for Destroyer at the Record Bar in Kansas City. The show was tonight, and I can’t say enough about it. Both bands were really solid. Dan Bejar and the rest of the Destroyer crew played an insanely good show, despite the looming threats of tornadoes outside the bar. I couldn’t have asked for a better set.

Thanks to everyone who bought/said nice things about the
poster. It was nice to meet you all, and I hope they look good on
your walls. Also, thanks to Destroyer for selling them for me and being
cool dudes in general.
